The difference

Traditional B.Tech vs. CB School of Technology

Most engineering programmes start teaching real programming in the third year.
We start from day 1.

Traditional B.Tech

Theory-heavy, outdated, disconnected

  • DSA starts in Year 3 DSA starts in Year 3, Two years lost to pure theory before touch a real Data structure.
  • College syllabus aligned Mentors Regular College syllabus, Mentors and Professors with less to no experience in the IT industry.
  • Exam-first, skill-last Many students enter college without knowing which skills truly matter. They discover opportunities like GSOC, ACM ICPC, top internships, and placements only after the right preparation window has started closing. By then, they realise that success is skill-based, not something achieved at the last minute. Without early guidance and a clear roadmap, many end up missing valuable opportunities.
  • Zero industry exposure Limited overall development - limited to no access to Coding clubs, Internships, Hackathons, Research etc.
  • AI is a Year-3/4 elective Usual colleges consider AI as an elective and as an engineer you would never be able to meet the industry standards that is must in today's AI age.
  • Missing Startup ecosystem No Entrepreneurship orientation, Accelerators, Combinators.
CB School of Technology

Practical-first, mentor-led, career-aligned

  • Coding & DSA from Day 1 DSA and coding starts right from Day 1, ship your first app by Month 3 - no waiting, out the boring years.
  • Industry aligned Mentors Industry experienced and oriented mentors with exposure to IT industry projects, best practices and modus of working.
  • Skill-First, Intern-First, Profile-First At CBSOT, we start from the beginning, we follow a clear roadmap built around real skills, strong fundamentals, competitive coding, projects, internships, and placement readiness. With the right mentorship and industry-focused learning, students prepare for opportunities like GSOC, ACM ICPC, top internships, and leading tech roles before the window even starts.
  • Complete Industry and Tech Exposure Exposure to Hackathons as a part of the curriculum, foreign university programs and visits, Open source, GSOC, LFX, Coding clubs like GDG and Student chapters, Research papers, patents and much more.
  • AI woven into every year AI in Year 1 to building an LLM by Year 3. Graduate to lead AI age and not to catch it up.
  • Startup as a Career 50 lacs fund for Entrepreneurship club, Combinators, resources for those who want to be Employers than employee.

Your setup

A MacBook Pro. Your first real project. Day 1.

Every CBSOT student works on a MacBook Pro from the first week. Real hardware, real developer tooling, real code, not shared lab computers, not a PDF.

Pro grade hardware. Apple Silicon, long battery, a dev machine you actually wants to open.
Pre-configured toolchain. VS Code, Git, Node, Python, Xcode — set up by the CBSOT tech team before your first class.
Yours for four years. The same machine you learn on is the same machine you interview, intern, and ship with.
AI-first workflows. GitHub Copilot, Claude code, Cursor, LLM APIs — wired into the way you code from day one.

The laptop cost is borne by the student. CBSOT partners with Apple authorised resellers to unlock the best program pricing & EMI options for every admit.

Questions which concern parents

What families want to know first.

The four questions that come up in almost every admissions call — answered honestly.

Is this an actual B.Tech degree? +

Yes. Students enroll into a full four-year B.Tech in CS & AI through our partner universities — GLA Greater Noida and Geeta University Panipat — wherein these degrees are recognised by Universities Grants Commission of India (UGC) and with academic operations and degree itself governed by the respective university. CBSOT designs and delivers the practical-learning, mentorship, and career experience on top of that. So, at the end of the CBSOT program, the student will have a recognised B.Tech degree in CS and AI, together with all the skills, exposure and experience required for a Top IT company or starting your own venture as a Startup.

How is this different from a normal engineering college? +

Three things: students code from Day 1 and not Year 3, every semester ends with real shipped projects and not just mock, copied ones, and industry mentors review your work every single week with the most advanced curriculum which is AI enabled and not age old syllabus with old school academics. It’s a rigorous B.Tech program — engineered for those who actually want to win.

What about placements? +

Career development begins in Semester 1. DSA, Mock interviews, portfolios, communication, system design — all structured into the weekly rhythm, not rushed at the end.

Is the admission test very hard? +

It’s designed to assess logical reasoning and learning ability, not existing coding knowledge. We want students who can learn fast with passion, not students who already know everything.
